Web Site Templates

These frequently asked questions apply to the our Template Monster Collection of website templates, themes and skins.

1. What are the advantages of purchasing a website template?

For many people the major advantage is cost savings. Professionally designed web site templates usually cost between $20 to $150, which is a fraction of the cost of a custom website design. The other advantage is that templates are already made so you don't have to wait to get online with them.

2. What do I receive when I order a template from the Template Monster collection?

After you complete your payment you will receive a confirmation email with link(s) to download files in zipped format. The download file(s) contain the following: PSD graphics file(s), HTML file(s), any custom fonts and an advanced clipart library.

You will need unzipping software to open the zipped files you download. Windows users may visit www.HotScripts.com or www.WinZip.com. Mac users may visit www.StuffIt.com.

3. What formats are your templates available in?

Website templates are available in Adobe Photoshop and HTML file formats. Any custom fonts that are used are included. Most of the HTML web site templates are compatible with Adobe GoLive, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.

4. What am I licensed to do with the templates I purchase?

Your license allows you to:

  • Use the template to build a single website.
  • Customize the template to suit your preferences and needs.

Your license forbids you to:

  • Resell or redistribute the templates (like we do).
  • Claim intellectual or exclusive ownership to any of our products, modified or unmodified. All products are property of content providing companies and individuals.
  • Make more than one website using with the same template. If you wish to use the template on more than one website you must purchase another license.

5. What is the difference between a unique and a non-unique purchase?

Non-Unique Purchase: This is a non-exclusive license to use the template design. Other people can purchse and use the same design.

Unique Purchase: This is an exclusive license to use the template design that guarantees that no one else can buy it again and only you and any people who bought the template before you can use the design. When you purchase the template on a unique basis, it is removed from the catalog.

6. Is it reasonable to make a unique purchase of template that was already purchased before?

Yes. There is a very small chance that you will even encounter your design on another website. This is because of the sheer number of websites that are online. Conservative estimates are in the millions. As well, every business adds their own logo and text and generally changes some aspect of the template before using it for their own business.

7. Are there any recurring or additional license fees?

No. This is a one-time fee payment.

8. Will my licence fee give me access to all of the template in your catalog.

No. The license applies to one specific web site template only.
